What is RSS?
RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication" and is a standard way of tagging text (and other content) so that news readers and aggregators can siphon it from the Internet.
What do I need to subscribe to RSS feeds?
You need a feed reader (also called a news reader) or news aggregator. These readers allow you to choose the source of the content you wish to "subscribe" to and automatically checks for new content. With the growing popularity of RSS feeds now, many email programs and Web browsers are including this function, or have free add-ons available. You can also join one of many free Web based feed readers such as My Yahoo or BlogLines. Read more about RSS here.
What is Podcasting?
Podcasting is basically an audio blog, a program recorded into an MP3 file format that you can post or pick up at online sites. It is a Web-based broadcast medium that enables anyone to have audio content delivered automatically to a PC, Mac or portable music device whenever a new MP3 file is placed on the Web site.
What is an MP3?
MP3 is an audio compression format which reduces the amount of data required to reproduce audio, while providing near-CD quality sound. MP3s can be played on a PC or Mac using programs like RealPlayer, Windows Media Player or Quicktime (available for free download), as well as portable MP3 players and mobile devices.
